Netvibes helps users organize their online activity by customizing a home page with RSS feeds, social networks, email, and more. The thing is, people use the web for different needs at different times -- to use an obvious example, during the day I'm much more focused on keeping track of tech news and try not to get too distracted with online socializing, and at night it's the opposite. That's why the startup will be expanding its services starting Tuesday, allowing users to create not just a single home page, but as many as they want.
Netvibes home pages can already be compartmentalized into different tabs (the average user supposedly has six or more, and I know people who have more than they can manage), but this takes things a step further so that users can have multiple pages with multiple tabs, each tab customized with its own set of widgets. Okay, that actually sounds kind of confusing, but it allows users to manage a lot more information about a specific topic or area of their lives if they want to. And it could also be useful if you want to use Netvibes pages for work. Users can navigate between their pages through a simple dropdown menu.

The latter two also offer Netvibes ways to make money. On the marketing side, Netvibes already allowed users to add promotional widgets to their pages (and hey, more pages means more room for promotional widgets), but a promotional page is much grander, and presumably more lucrative for Netvibes. It's also potentially more fun, since it allows users to take a corporate marketing template then personalize it to their interests.
Netvibes has raised $15 million in venture funding. It recently unveiled a Labs section for expriemental features.
